Drawing the Body & Inhabiting the Drawing
The scope of this line of research includes all projects focused on the embodied experience and on the multiple relationships created by the body that draws the body and for the body through patterns. Derived (or should derive) from the embodied experience, these relationships are represented by the following sequence,
Body >>>> Pattern >>>> Dress >>>> Dressed Body
Its scope also includes projects that consider the part played by pattern design in the process of clothing design, as a creative tool. This type of process, which is based on the fashion designer and pattern designer synchronic creative act, is represented by the following sequence,
Idea >>>> Pattern / Drawing >>>> Dress
Thus, this line of research favors projects that point out the symbiosis of Pattern Design’s various dimensions, manifest in the actions of contemplation/speculation (theoria), creation/production (poiesis) and knowledge/experience (technê).
