To contribute for the recognition of pattern design’s significance as an area of knowledge, a branch of learning and a practice, considering the technical, artistic and cultural-philosophical aspects and achievements that make up its own history.

To support and engage in research into, through and for Pattern Design that point out the symbiosis of its various dimensions, manifest in the actions of contemplation/speculation (theoria), creation/production (poiesis) and knowledge/experience (technê).

To promote and organize training and dissemination activities via workshops, talks, scientific production (papers/chapters/books) and exhibitions.

To develop and implement pedagogical strategies and learning materials that are focused on the embodied/sensory experience of the maker and user alike.
